RECLAIMING CABOOLTURE SHIRE - OUR WATER - OUR COMMUNITY
Our policy is to seek a people's democratic vote either for or against returning our original Caboolture Shire to its rightful owners.
Other lobby groups are working to restore Redcliffe and Pine Rivers Shires
Our non political policy is confined to advising members of our progress.
Interaction with sitting and potential members of parliament has been a determined but futile effort .
A more detailed response from the ALP candidates and Yvette D'Ath is reported fully on another page of this site.
A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF OUR RIGHT TO VOTE CAMPAIGN IS POSTED HERE FOR YOU INFORMATION.
1. A.L.P. - The sitting member for Redcliffe M/s D'Ath and the candidates for the four Caboolture area seats have indicated support for a vote on deamalgamation. Exorbitant costing by Queensland Treasury has been discredited following research which asserts that stamp duty of $142 million is not payable.
Our mayor issued misleading costing information to the electorate in print on two occasions. Councillors admitted to not reading the Ernst Young report on this issue.
2. INDEPENDENT Candidate for Pumicestone - DENNIS JOHNSON
Dennis is a long term member of Reclaim Caboolture Shire Inc running a daily petition supporting a democratic vote for residents and ratepaying business owners.
Repeated and regular submissions, conferences with relevant minsters regarding Shire boundaries, Water pricing and Electricity pricing have fallen on deaf ears.
500 people shouted their dissatisfaction with Water management at a forum at the Bribie Island R.S.L. in vain. Electricity costing continues to rankle. Thousands of consumers have had power cut off. 2600 business electricity accounts have been closed. here is no obvious support for small business.
R.C.S. is A political - readers must make up their own minds - a simple vote in conjunction the State elections would have been relatively inexpensive.
